Dental Implants FAQ

Home/ Services

1. What is a dental implant?

Dental Implant is basically a surgical fixture placed in the jawbones to hold the replacement teeth in place. This is one of the most reliable treatment procedures for missing teeth.

2. Does it hurt?

You will be given local anesthesia during the process so that you do not feel any pain. After the procedure, you might experience slight discomfort but that will go away as your mouth gets used to the implant.

3. How long does it take for the procedure to complete?

In some cases, artificial teeth are placed with the dental implant so everything is done in one visit. In other cases, the implants are first placed in the jawbones through surgery. It takes a few months for the surgery site to heal and the implant to get fused with the jawbones.  The healing period differs from person to person. Dr. Sheetal at Bliss Dental Lounge will check your condition and then will give you an appointment to place your artificial teeth.

4. Will I have to be without teeth after the implant surgery?

No, you will be given temporary artificial teeth on the implant sites post the surgery. When you come for your artificial permanent teeth, we will replace them with the temporary ones.

5. How long do the implants last?

The implants last for more time compared to other dental procedures. However, longevity also depends on your dental hygiene, maintenance, and the fact that you should visit us regularly to get your dental implants checked by us.
